Our Valentine’s Day Gift Basket

This year we’re going all out for Valentine’s Day. The husband has been working away for a while and is coming back just before the weekend, so I feel a celebration is due.

I’ve put together this hamper for all of us.

I saw this Cwtch sign in our local market hall and had to get it for our living room. I’ve seen similar signs on Ebay (which are made in Carmarthenshire and so still authentically Welsh). If any of you aren’t familiar with the Welsh word, ‘Cwtch’, it kind of means a safe, snuggly cuddle or a hug – there’s not really a direct English translation.

I’ve also put in some books for the boys – the Welsh and the French translations of ‘Guess How Much I Love You’ which I bought from Amazon. The boys will be learning Welsh in school and I hope to be able to speak it a bit at home sometimes. We’re also making the effort to learn French; I did it for A-level, although I’m pretty rusty.  We go to France on holiday though, and I think that it will be valuable for the boys to learn a European language.

I’ve also put in some ‘Lots of Love’ milk chocolate for Dave, some paleo dark chocolate for me (just 1/4 cup of coconut oil, 2 tbsp of cacao powder & 1 tbsp honey melted and whisked together and then frozen in moulds). Arthur’s already had some of these and really liked them so I may have to share… boo hoo.

Finally, are the Salt Dough heart gifts which we made – some of these are for family members who are coming to visit over the weekend, but the footprints are for the boys’ rooms. I’ve written a post on how we made these which you can check out HERE

I’d love to hear about what gifts you’re getting loved ones this Valentine’s Day.

Lovely idea. We are not doing any gifts this year. We are going away tomorrow for the weekend which is basically a gift in itself because we never go away with the kids.
